Trusting your IGC Hardware Certificate in the Adobe Approved Trusted List (AATL)
- Your environment may be configured so that IGC Hardware certificates are "Trusted" in Adobe PDF Reader. This video guides you through the steps to configure such trust in your environment.
In this video, we will…
- Install Federal Bridge root certificates to your Windows Certificate Store, as IGC Hardware certificates are trusted by the Federal Bridge.
- Requirement: Admin privileges to install the certificate.
- Add IGC Hardware certificates to the Windows Certificate Store.
- Trust the Windows Certificate Store in Adobe.
- This allows the certificates to be displayed in Adobe as "Trusted“.
IdenTrust Global Common (IGC) Root Certificates
- To get started, visit IdenTrust.com
- From the support tab click Downloads and Drivers.
- In the Federal CA Certificates section, click on; Federal Common CA G2 Certificate.
- Open the download for Federal Common CA G2.
- Click Install Certificate.
- Select Local Machine.
- Admin permissions are required to install these root certificates.
- Be sure to have your helpdesk assist you with the installation.
- Click Next.
- Click Place all certificates in the following store and click Browse.
- Click Trusted Root Certification Authorities.
- Click OK.
- Click Next.
- Click Finish.
- Once the certificate is installed you will receive an alert window advising that the import was Successful.
- Click OK to Close.
- From the Federal CA Certificates section.
- Click on Federal Bridge CA G4 Certificate.
- Open the download for Federal Bridge CA G4.
- Click Install Certificate.
- Select Local Machine.
- Click Next.
- Admin permissions are required to install these root certificates.
- Click Place all certificates in the following store and click Browse.
- Click Intermediate Certification Authorities.
- Click OK.
- Click Next.
- Click Finish.
- Click Intermediate Certification Authorities.
- Once the certificate is installed you will receive an alert window advising that the import was successful.
- From the IdenTrust Global Common IGC section.
- Click on Resigned IGC Human Root Download File.
- Open the download for resigned IGC Human Root.
- Open the Certificates folder.
- Open IdenTrust Global Common Root issued by Federal bridge CA G4.
- Click Install Certificate.
- This certificate can stay on the current user.
- Click next.
- From the IdenTrust Global Common IGC section.
- Select Automatically select the certificate store based on the type of certificate.
- Click Next.
- Click Finish.
- Once the certificate is installed you will receive an alert window advising that the import was Successful.
Adobe Approved Trust List (AATL)
- Once the Root Certificates are installed, go ahead and open Adobe. You will want to make sure that Adobe will read your certificates as Trusted.
- You can press ‘Control+K’ or click on Menu and select Preferences.
- From Signatures, click on More next to Verification.
- From the Windows Integration section.
- Select Validating Signatures; and Validating Certified Documents.
- When certificates are installed in Windows PC, the certificates get installed directly into the Windows Certificate Store.
- Adobe as a PDF Reader will allow the user to trust the certificates listed in the Windows Certificate Store, however; the user will need to manually add the Certificate Store as Trusted for this to work.
