Kalos, Inc. has partnered with IdenTrust to provide identity proofing and issuance of a Digital Certificate and registered USB token to provide a hardware two-factor authentication solution that complies with the DEA EPCS program requirements.
Choosing Your Certificate
For EPCS Prescribing
If you will be using credentials for EPCS prescribing, you are required to use an IGC Basic Assurance Certificate with a Registered USB Token. You can select this certificate option when you choose BUY NOW to access the Certificate Selection Wizard.
If you are currently using a SafeNet USB token, Please select one of these options SafeNet USB token or SafeNet USB token - use existing option.
If you are unsure which option or token to select, please contact Kalos, Inc with your concern.
Notice of an upcoming change:
In the middle of Q1, 2020, Kalos, Inc will be switching to HID USB tokens. At that time the SafeNet USB token will no longer be offered. This will not have an impact on your ability to continue working as both brands of tokens are certificated with the Kalos, Inc application.
For Identity-Proofing Only
If you will not be submitting EPCS-compliant prescriptions, or your EHR/EMR provides non-IdenTrust tokens, you can opt to purchase an IGC Basic Assurance Software certificate that can be used for identity-proofing only. You may choose this certificate option when you choose BUY NOW to access the Certificate Selection Wizard.
In the case where hardware is issued, ONLY THE SUBSCRIBER OF THE CERTIFICATE SHOULD HAVE EXCLUSIVE USE OF THEIR TOKEN – In all cases, THE DIGITAL CERTIFICATE IS YOUR FORM OF IDENTIFICATION, SIMILAR TO YOUR PASSPORT OR DRIVER’S LICENSE. Under the IGC Certificate Policy, it is our responsibility as an Authorized Certification Authority to revoke the certificate in a case of hardware loss or disclosure or compromise of the private key or any certificate related password to anyone other than the subscriber.
