IdenTrust offers two deployment models to meet your business needs:
The self-service model allows companies with small to medium-sized server farms to purchase TLS/SSL certificates individually from the IdenTrust website. Vouchers can also be purchased to aid in the management of acquiring certificates. This model is best suited to organizations with one (1) to fifty (50) servers.
This model allows companies with a large volume operation and/or those with a desire to manage the certificate provisioning process directly to use a SaaS platform and is offered on a scalable “all you can use” basis. This model is best suited to organizations with hundreds to thousands of servers.
TLS/SSL Certificate Self-Service Model
In a self-service model, IdenTrust executes all of the identity vetting functions necessary to approve and issue certificates. Companies with small to medium-sized server farms can purchase individual TLS/SSL certificates from the IdenTrust website, following a simple 3 step process:
- Apply and Pay
Complete your online application and provide payment information.
- Await Authentication
An IdenTrust Registration Agent will validate your information, approve your application and send you an electronic Welcome Letter. This process typically takes approximately three (3) business days and is generally completed within five (5) business days at most.
- Retrieve and Activate
Your Welcome Letter will instruct you how to retrieve your server certificate, so that you can install it on your server.
In this model, the price of a TLS/SSL certificate will vary depending on the type of certificate and the validity period that you choose. Validity periods are offered in one (1) and two (2) year increments, based on the type of certificate.

TLS/SSL Certificate Software-as-a-Service Model
IdenTrust offers the Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) platform model to provide our customers with total provisioning management of TLS/SSL certificates. Companies with a large volume operation and/or those with a desire to manage the certificate provisioning process directly can purchase certificates offered on a scalable, “all you can use” basis.
This service uses the IdenTrust web-based Trust SourceTM platform that offers multiple configurable modules deployed in the enterprise environment to issue and manage all lifecycle events for TLS/SSL certificates.
The Trust Source platform includes:
- Web-based registration pages
- Web-based retrieval pages
- Certificate Management Center (CMC) which is a web-based portal that allows certificate holders and device sponsors to manage their certificates, including renewal, replacement and revocation
- LRA Central which is a web-based tool used by authorized employees to approve certificates and manage certificate lifecycle events
- Certificate validation through a Certificate Revocation List (CRL) and/or Online Certificate Status Protocol (OCSP)
