Do I really need a Medium Hardware certificate?

Answer:

Most applications require only a Medium Assurance or Medium Token Assurance certificate. There are only a handful of relying parties that require the harder-to-obtain Medium Hardware certificate.

Please double check to see if you can purchase a Medium Assurance or Medium Token Assurance certificate instead of the Medium Hardware. This will save you a little money and a lot of time when having your in-person identification verified.

If your relying party does require a Medium Hardware certificate, you will need to meet with a Trusted Correspondent to have your in-person identification session. You can scheduled an in-person identification session with one of our Trusted Correspondents. To do so, please call our Helpdesk at (888) 882-1104.
