This certificate will secure and authenticate a web or network server using the Secure Socket Layer (SSL) protocol. TrustID certificates are administered under the TrustID Certificate Policy sponsored by the American Bankers Association. TrustID server certificates are standard x.509 v3 SSL certificates that work with all SSL-capable browsers and servers.

An applicant must use reasonable efforts to protect the security of their Server Certificate Private Key. A TrustID Server Certificate verifies the identity and ownership of a web domain or network server and can create an encrypted channel for private information exchange using the Secure Socket Layer (SSL) protocol.
