Explanation of Program
IdenTrust and the State of Washington are pleased to offer the Certificate Coordinator (CC) program to State of Washington agency personnel. The CC program is designed to give authorized agency individuals the ability to assist users in the management of their digital certificates. Certificate Coordinators will be granted secure online access to IdenTrust's Certificate Administration Center, where they may perform administrative activities relating to Certificates purchased by their agency. Certificate Coordinators will be allowed to view a listing of current Subscribers, ascertain Certificate expiration dates, revoke Certificates, and, for high and intermediate assurance level Certificates, request recovery of Encryption Keys stored by IdenTrust.
How Does an Agency Enroll?
All State of Washington Agencies can apply to the program. Each agency must complete the Certificate Coordinator Agreement. This agreement sets up the authorizing officials for the agency.
- Complete and sign the form
- Designate Authorizing Official(s) from that Agency (Schedule 1)
* Designate agency and agency departments to be managed
- Send the completed application to IdenTrust
How Does a Certificate Coordinator Enroll?
Once the agency has completed the Certificate Coordinator Agreement, individuals that want to enroll must complete the Authorization Form for Certificate Coordinator.
- Certificate Coordinator must complete and sign the form
* Designate agency department(s) to be managed
- An Authorizing Official must also sign the form
- Send the completed application to IdenTrust along with payment
What Else is Required?
All Certificate Coordinators must use a State of Washington High Assurance Certificate stored on a smartcard or a USB token. If the CC applicant does not already have one, they must apply for and retrieve one before their application can be processed by IdenTrust.
How Much Does it Cost?
Each Certificate Coordinator must pay a one-time fee of $250 to IdenTrust before they will be allowed access to the site. A Purchase Order can be faxed to:
- (801) 924-8138
- Attention: SWA Certificate Coordinator Registration
Note: The fee of $250 does not include a State of Washington High Assurance digital certificate. It must be purchased separately.
What Happens Next?
IdenTrust will set up the new Certificate Coordinator for access to the Certificate Administration Center interface (LRA Central), along with access to the proper certificates. Once this is completed, IdenTrust will send an email to the Certificate Coordinator containing instructions on how to access this site using their State of Washington High Assurance Certificate.
Whose Certificates Can I See?
Each CC is given access to the agency departments that are listed on their Authorization Form. For instance, a Certificate Coordinator from DSHS will not be able to see any certificates purchased by the Department of Health.
Can I see Certificates from Users that already have a Certificate?
Yes, assuming the user designated the proper agency during their original certificate application.
What if I Leave the Agency?
If a Certificate Coordinator leaves an agency or no longer wants to perform the duties of a Certificate Coordinator, please contact IdenTrust immediately to have privileges revoked. In some cases, the certificate itself will also be revoked. The IdenTrust Helpdesk can be reached via phone at (888) 248-4447 or via email at helpdesk@IdenTrust.com.
