Validation Gateway™ is an IdenTrust service providing banks that
are not signatories to the Trust Network™ with a mechanism for requesting validations of
credentials issued by IdenTrust Signatory banks.
In 2007, IdenTrust formally introduced a new type of Participant into the IdenTrust
community. This new type of Participant, known as a Relying Institution, was established
for banks wanting to request validations of existing credentials without assuming the liability and expense of becoming a full issuer.
The experience IdenTrust has developed in working in this space for the last decade
enabled the deployment of this solution, including the award of two distinct but linked
patents for the innovative approach to multi-trust anchor path discovery and validation
execution.
