CA's eTRUST Directory is First To Be Certified By Identrus
Enables Financial Institutions to Provide Global Third-Party Trust Network for Secure E-Commerce
ISLANDIA, NY, July 9, 2003 - Computer Associates International, Inc. (CA) today announced that its eTrust Directory has become the first directory solution to be certified by Identrus LLC, the global banking standard for authentication of digital identities. By providing an Identrus-certified directory solution, CA is enabling participating financial institutions to more effectively and efficiently manage a full range of third-party e-commerce services.
Identrus has established a regulated policy framework that provides the global standard for digital identity authentication. The Identrus platform provides the legal and technical infrastructure for financial institutions and their customers to effectively manage the risks associated with identity authentication in digital transactions.
CA eTrust Directory achieved certification by meeting Identrus' exacting standards for performance, scalability and reliability.
"The financial institutions participating in our Identrus program require technology solutions that offer zero downtime and extremely high scalability," said Andrew McLauchlan, chairman of Identrus LLC. "CA's eTrust Directory fulfills these stringent technical requirements and thus provides a key enabling technology for our members."
eTrust Directory provides full support for X.509 certificates and certificate revocation lists to establish a secure repository for lookups and identity management. Combined with eTrust OCSPro, it provides an unparalled solution for high-speed, policy-based validation of digital certificates.
"Directories are the backbone on which organizations build their secure identity and access management infrastructure," said Eric Ross, product manager of eTrust Directory. "By delivering the world's most technically advanced directory solution, CA is providing critical leadership for the advancement of global e-commerce."
eTrust Directory and eTrust OCSPro are already being used by financial institutions around the world to provide trusted identity services and transaction infrastructure for customers and partners.
"Based on our evaluation of available products, we found that CA's eTrust solutions were able to meet our requirements for reliability, performance and risk control," said Joseph Failla, executive manager, ANZ Bank, one of Australia's leading banking and financial services groups. "The Identrus certification confirms this assessment and will allow us to further extend our global trust partnerships."
CA will continue to work with Identrus and other e-commerce security groups to develop solutions that enable trust relationships and remove risk from electronic transactions.
