Identrus™ Subsidiary Digital Signature Trust Recognized for Cross-Certification with the Federal Bridge Certification Authorit
DST Becomes First and Only ACES Vendor to Achieve Certification

Identrus™, a global solutions company that secures interactions where identity is critical, today announced that its subsidiary, Digital Signature Trust, has been recognized by the Federal PKI Policy Authority (FPKIPA) for its achievement of interoperability between its digital certificates and the Federal Bridge Certification Authority (FBCA). DST provides digital certificate services under the GSA's Access Certificates for Electronic Services (ACES) contract, providing services to the HHS, GSA, NIH, EPA, State, Labor, Coast Guard, among other government entities.

The cross-certification achievement marks DST as the first and only ACES vendor to complete cross-certification with the FBCA. ACES is a digital certification policy designed by the GSA in response to the Government Paperwork Elimination Act, providing federal agencies with a way to issue common digital certificates to private sector businesses, private citizens, and Federal employees.

"Digital certificate interoperability across government agencies is a primary goal of the federal government," said Dr. Peter Alterman, Assistant Chief Information Officer for Electronic Authentication, NIH. "We congratulate Identrus and DST on setting interoperability as a top priority and for their achievement as the first commercial digital certificate company to cross-certify with the Federal Bridge."

"Today's achievement is a significant hurdle overcome for government agencies without their own PKIs, helping a growing number of them to electronically validate the identities of those public parties with which they choose to do business," said Keren Cummins, vice president of federal services, Identrus. "DST has a track record of 'firsts,' and today's recognition by the FBCA for achievement in interoperability marks yet another milestone for innovation and determination within our company."
