Certificate Download and Installation Instructions for Firefox 2.0
Before you can use your IdenTrust ECA digital Certificates, the IdenTrust ECA Subordinate and ECA Root Certificate must be installed in your browser. This process is performed automatically during the retrieval of the certificate.
These instructions are provided only in the case that such process fails
Downloading both Certificates is a four-step process:

Download the IdenTrust ECA Subordinate Certificate file. |

2. |
Start the Certificate Import Wizard and install the IdenTrust ECA Subordinate Certificate file in your browser. |

3. |
Verify the Subordinate CA Certificate hash (thumbprint) |

4. |
Install the Root CA Certificate by following the instructions in http://iase.disa.mil/pki/eca/docs/IE_Install_Root_Instructions.doc |

Print these instructions. Then click the link below to begin the download process.
Download IdenTrust ECA Subordinate Certificate.

1. When you click the link above, the File Download window appears. Complete following actions:

1. Click the button for: Save this file to disk
2. Click OK

| b. Save As |
1. Click the arrow to the right of the Save In: box and browse to your Windows Desktop.
2. Click Save (The file will be saved on your Windows Desktop.)
3. Click on Close

The File Download is complete! Please continue on to step 2. |

2. Start the Certificate Import Wizard by completing the following:

a. Open Firefox
|
|
b. Click on Tools - Options - the Advanced icon at the top - then the Encryption tab - then click the View Certificates button at the bottom.
|
|
c. Once you have done that you will need to click on the Authorities tab at the top.
|
|
d. Click on the Import button at the bottom
|
|
e. In the Look In box at the top select Desktop.
|
|
f. Find and click on the file named identrusteca1.cer and click on open.
|
|
g. Accept the default settings and that will complete the installation of the root chain.
|
|
The Certificate Import was successful! Please continue on to step 3.
|

3. Now you have to verify that the ECA Subordinate Certificate is authentic. You will accomplish this by calling the IdenTrust Help Desk and checking the IdenTrust ECA Subordinate Certificate

Request the IdenTrust ECA Subordinate CA hash (or Thumbprint) from the Help Desk representative. This is a combination of 20 characters that may include the numbers 0 through 9 and letters A through F

| b. Locate the Certificate’s hash (or thumbprint) |
Locate and open the file: identrusteca1.cer on your Windows desktop
Select the Details tab.
Scroll down until you find Thumbprint
|
| c. Compare the numbers |
If the Hash (thumbprint) is the same, you have and authentic certificate.
If the hash (thumbprint) does not match during this step, IdenTrust staff will provide an authenticated
ECA Subordinate Certificate direct to the subscriber.

4. To install the ECA Root Certificate follow the instructions in
